There are also successful businesses that are smaller, for instance The Landscape of Carmel, Autobase Inc., and the Orchard Software Crop. The Carmel Arts District
The development of The Carmel Arts District is one of the greatest accomplishments in Carmel. The District helps smaller businesses succeed because it offers a feeling of a smaller town with great curb appeal and decorativeness. Having all of the wonderful updates should increase home values in the area.

Roundabouts are considered to be safer and to make traffic flow at a better speed. Due to the fact that they have been so successful, other cities have began to incorporate the roundabout into their own traffic system.

The Public Library
A new addition to Carmel in 1999 was The Carmel Public Library. The building has one hundred sixteen thousand SQ FT with two stories. Between the two stories the library enough space for two hundred ninety thousand books, forty four thousand audiovisual equipment and products, and six hundred and sixty five periodicals. In addition they have one hundred nineteen computer areas, public reading or sitting areas, rooms for studying, and technology equipment used for all ages. The Monon Trail
Indiana’s Monon Trail: The Monon trail can be used for bicycling, jogging, and walking. Some people use the trail for pleasure and some people use the trail as a way to get to work. The trail extends from 146th Street in Carmel (the north side tip of the trail) to 10th Street in Downtown Indianapolis, Indiana (which is the south tip). The South end of the trail was completed in 1999 and the Northern end of the trail was completed between 2002 and 2003.

Our Artesian Well:
Carmel has great tasting drinking water. The water taste so great because it comes from Carmel’s very own natural artesian well. One reason the water from the well tastes so great is because the water flows without pumping.
