Martinsville is the County seat in Morgan County and known for its artesian waters. Martinsville is the “Gateway to beautiful Southern Indiana”. Martinsville is located between ST RD 37 and ST RD 67 and approximately 25 miles South of Indianapolis and 20 miles North on Bloomington.
Along the North edge of Martinsville runs the White River. Along part of the White River is McCormicks Creek State Park located near Spencer Indiana and Bloomington Indiana. While visiting McCormicks Cree you can enjoy camping, hiking, swimming, tennis, their nature center, and picnic areas. Martinsville has a great school system offering 7 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, 1 high school, 1 adult school, and 4 private schools.
