New Palestine named for the biblical place is located in Hancock County in Sugar Creek Township. New Palestine consists of agricultural (farmland) and a small portion of business land, but for the most part New Palestine is a town that consists of mostly housing development. Since New Palestine is a small town you can enjoy practically NO traffic compared to a bigger city. Highways that run through or near New Palestine are U.S 52, U.S 40 (Washington Street), I-74, and I-70. New Palestine is home of the community school corporation of Southern Hancock County. They have 3 elementary schools, 1 middle school, and 1 high school which is located in the heart of the town. The high school hosts football, baseball, and basketball games, the beginning of the annual New Palestine parade, and the annual July 4th Festival.
